Gary Streeter opens Filham park surgery
The new surgery at Filham park was opened on the 28th June 2004, following a hectic weekend of moving all the equipment and stock from our previous premises at Moorhedge and Park Street. An official opening of the premises was held by Gary Streeter MP on the 15th August, this occurred during a very successful open day, when approximately 400 people came to visit the new premises and participate at the open day.
Highlights of this were the dog agility demonstration, a few brave souls then participated with their own dogs to show that it is really more difficult than it looks, earlier in the day the dog show was well attended with the rosettes kindly provided by a client. Henry the mule was on hand to provide rides around the field in the cart. Children were entertained by Karen of Fantasy Faces who was face painting and providing balloon sculptures.
Excellent food was provided by the Devon Meat Company serving high quality local produce. 3 local charities, Erme Valley Riding for the Disabled, Bittaford Under 5 playgroup and Operation Henry benefited from the open day as they had their own stalls present and we were also able to give a donation of £130 to each charity."
